Programs at Friends of Sabine Park

Skate The Foundry now offers skateboard programs for both new and experienced youth skaters at Friends of Sabine Park in Narberth. Skateboarding is not only a fun sport, but great way to learn balance, body coordination, creativity and teamwork as well as becoming more patient and consistent to overcome their physical and mental strength!

Skate The Foundry’s Policy:
1. Once registered, our programs are non-refundable under any circumstances.
2. If Skate The Foundry needs to cancel a class/programs for any reasons, a portion credit towards future programs may be available. There will be no refund available under any circumstances.
3. No make-up classes for missed days available.
4. There is $20 registration fee for each program which is included in the program tuition. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
5. We do not offer prorated tuition.

Registration through our booking system (Wellness Living):
1. When creating an account with our booking system, please use a participant’s name and DOB for an account.
2. Please use your email address and phone number. Emails are used for information about the programs, and phone number is used for emergency.
3. The programs have age restrictions in the system so you won’t be able to see the availability or the schedule if parents/guardians are signed in with their DOBs.
4. If you have more than one child, please follow the steps below to add another child.

COVID-19 Health & Safety Policy:

We are very strict about this policy, so please read it through before signing up to our programs.

1. Please self isolate for 14 days upon return to PA if you have traveled to the states on Travel Quarantine List before coming to our camp. 
2. All instructors, skaters and their families will be asked to wear clean masks the entire time.
3.  Masks must have ear loops or ties that go around the ear or go over the head in order to stay well in the camper’s face. We are not accepting a bandana or a neck cover/gaiter.
4. The instructor will make sure everyone takes enough water break throughout the club to avoid heat exhaustion, however, please have them drink plenty of fluid before coming to the club.
5. If a skater isn’t following this rule, the parent/guardian will be asked to pick them up early. We are not able to have them back if this behavior keeps occurring another class. Skate The Foundry has a right not to issue a refund/credit for this program if this occurs.

Disclaimer: As is the case with any public or outside facility, you and the participant may be exposed to the COVID-19 Virus. The participant and your decision to skateboard and take a private skate lesson is made knowingly and voluntarily by you and the participant with full knowledge of this risk. If you and the participant disagree, do not schedule a private lesson. Otherwise, the participant and your participation in the skate lesson shall constitute a waiver, and will release Skate The Foundry from any and all liability with respect to exposure to the COVID-19 virus. 

Requirements & Things to bring
1. Must sign the waiver online. 
2. A skater must have their own skateboard, helmet, safety gear (knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards). Due to the COVID-19, we ask everyone to wear safety gear. Because of the ground at Sabine Park, a small fall can scratch their skins, and wearing safety gear can really prevent these minor cuts.

Tuesday Skate Club at Sabine Park – FULL

Date: October 27, November 3, 10, 17, 24, and December 1. 
Rain date: December 8. 
Group 1 (1st grade to 3rd grade) 4:00pm – 4:45pm.
Group 2 (4th grade and up) 5:00pm – 5:45pm.
Capacity: 12 skaters max each group.
Price: $135 per skater. 10% sibling discount available for the second/third children “Sabine”
Levels: All levels are welcomed, however, if a skater has never skateboarded before, we strongly recommend taking one or two private lessons with us so that they can skateboard safely, will gain the confidence and enjoy this club much more.

Saturday Skate Club at Sabine Park

Intro Class – FULL

Date: October 24, 31, November 7, and 14. 
Rain date: November 21.
Time: 9:30am – 10:30am
Price: $100 – no prorated available.
Levels: Intro level – perfect fit for skaters who are new to skateboarding or have never skateboarded before. 
Main topic these two programs will cover:

  1. How to get on/off the board.
  2. How to push.
  3. How to navigate by kick turning and carving.
  4. How to ride up and down smaller ramps.
  5. Fakie Revert.
  6. Skatepark etiquette.

Beginner Class – FULL

Date: October 24, 31, November 7, and 14. 
Rain date: November 21.
Time: 10:45am – 11:45am
Price: $100 – no prorated available.
Levels​: Beginner level – perfect fit for skaters who can comfortably perform the basics (riding, turning, pushing, etc), and are ready to learn beginner tricks.
Main topic our beginner programs will cover:

  1. How to Kick Turns (BS/FS).
  2. How to Drop-in.
  3. How to Ollie
  4. How to Pop Shove-it.
  5. Creating a line that includes multiple tricks.

Open Skate Sesh – Drop in is welcomed!

Date​: 10/24.
Time: ​1:30pm – 2:30pm – must check-in by 1:45pm.
Length of Program: ​60 mins.
Capacity​: 5 skaters max.
Instructor​: No instructor will be available for this session. Drop ins are welcomed, however, parents/legal guardians must sign the waiver and make a payment online. No cash is accepted.
Price​: $15 per day. No sibling discount available for this session.

Levels​: Since there will be no instructor for this session, every skater must have at least 6+ months of consistent skateboarding, know the skatepark etiquette and know one’s limits. If they cannot go up and down a ramp by themselves, they must take a private lesson with our instructor. If a skater is younger than 10 year old, a guardian or a parent must stay around the park for their safety, however, no spectator will be allowed to be in the skatepark area.
